:)
I think this week we will make an offer on a cutsie tiny house in Portland. The outside needs some love, but we are young and able and sometimes even handy! Now Tim will show me all those skills he learned building homes when we first met.
I didn't picture us living in NE Portland, but we're kind of falling in love with the idea. Right smack in between both families (25 minutes to Tigard, 25 to Corbett!). And many other Kurkinens live within 5 or 10 minutes! Our favorite coffee shops a quick drive away. Hard to believe.
It's quick to works and all around a good first place.
We'll see what happens with the offer, the financing, etc.
We went way under budget with this place... but that's the living simply part we're trying to hold to. If we have to pay less for this home than we do for rent, that would be IDEAL. It's in God's hands. I'm a little nervous... but I think you'll like it!
Cheers!

Beach-ing
Everything good was in this weekend.
Sun in January
A huge home all to ourselves
A three person bathtub... Just for the two of us.
Breakfast made by Tim
Falling asleep to waves crashing
Walking the sand without a coat.., in January.
Getting soaked and not caring
Reading books by all three fireplaces.
Board games
Kissing like we just met
Dreaming about what this next year holds

Something Funny....
I have no pictures... wait! Let me scour the internets for pictures....I found one!!!
Yes.
Let me start at the beginning. Tim and I had a great night after I worked and he and Piper drove me down to a favorite restaurant that my Dad used to take my Grandma to.... it has mostly cottonheads, and the food isn't for foodies. But I love it.
Right in the middle of Tim filling our soft drinks, I ran up to him and said "Dance with me!!! IT'd our song!" We spent the next thirty seconds trying to hear it on that side of the restaurant while we danced and I'm sure people thought we were so weird we would rob the place. We never did again hear Michael Buble serenade us with "Lost," but we laughed and danced :) All smiles.
Then we came back home... I found some Cry Babies (super sour gum balls), must have had a hankering for them in the middle of the night and at 4:13 am woke up clutching them in my fist, wondering "Why are these here?" Also.. "Did I chew on one? If so, where is it?" Then I put them on the bedside table and went back to sleep.
Wake up to 10:23 am. I "intagrammed" the alarm clock time. Because I love that we both slept in. And I wanted a picture that wasn't Piper on there. I get up to pee. Tim walks in the bathroom, stretches with his arms in the air and I say, "Your hair looks matted...OH... MY...GOD.! " Extreme laughter on my part. Tim says, "What is that?! You woke up te times choking, is that something that came from your stomach?!" I'm laughing harding knowing he thinks my gastric juices have matted his armpit hair. Once I stop laughing I show him a handful of cry babies gum and said I woke up clutching these wondering if I chewed one and lost it in our sleep and it ended up in your armpit hair!!!
It's a gross story. But I love it. Peanut Butter didn't work. We had to do a little shave job. Oh well.

A little something
It's 2013!
Today was going to be my first day on DAY SHIFT, but they called when I was getting ready at 4:17 am and said "You were on the Holiday Lottery at the top for being flexed! So you're on call!" Heck yes. So I went back to bed until 8 am. Tim and I then moved to the couch, watched some creepy show about neighbors who kill neighbors. We fell asleep for about 30 minutes of NAPPY SNUGGLY BLISS. Piper may have been a part of it, I'm not sure...
Now I'm thinking about 2013.
The word for this year?
Simple.
I want to keep everything nice and easy.
Simplify our lifestyle.
I want to read the Bible, read some books, see friends and family and just live a tad more simply. Staying positive and realizing that we've all got a story, so me bitching about someone won't improve things. Just seeing the good. Choosing to look up at my Father. And hug Tim a little closer.
It's off to a good start!
Cheers to 2013!
