A New Addition

After what feels like forever, we are proud to announce that soon we will add a SWEET LITTLE BABY to our family!

Due March 2014!

We are OVER THE MOON excited!  It's been fun to tell family and friends :)

I'm feeling like the baby will be a b-o-y.  (My mom and mother-in-law agree).

My sister and Tim have a slight inkling it's a girl (or I think they just really want a girl).  My Dad said "girl" just to appease Tim :) Anyway, can you tell we are having fun  guessing the gender?

I've been more and more nauseated the last 2 weeks- a good sign, right? It makes meal planning a moment by moment affair.  My mom has been making me wonderful bland(ish) soups and she makes Tim meaty dinners so I won't have to cook anything.  Thank goodness!

The sound of a toilet flushing is guaranteed to make me lose my lunch.  This baby certainly has preferences ;)

So there you have it! The first Blodgett grandchild and the 13th Kurkinen grandchild :)

Let the adventures begin!

  3. Congrats Kim! I've noticed you've been posting alot of baby stuff on Pinterest, so I checked out your blog! So glad to see you are having a baby. It sounds like you had to wait a while? Any tips on staying patient? We aren't trying yet, but soon. I'm so excited, but so anxious it may take a while. I am also not a patient person and have a hard time with waiting...

  4. Karen,

It's hard to be patient! The good news is most people who are young and healthy get pregnant quickly once they "pull the goalie." We just had some steps to go through and are so thankful for the chance to become parents.

I remember distancing myself from my "baby" board on Pinterest (I think I actually deleted it) so I wouldn't be so focused on that next stage that I felt I was missing out on. I prayed a lot and was still frustrated. I think the thing that kept me going was that God would still give me moments during days where I could praise Him, and he gave me an understanding husband who walked through some dark valleys with me.

I'm excited for your next stage, Karen! It's easy to wish away the place we are at so we can get to what we've been dreaming of. Just hold onto Geoff a little closer :)
