Homemade Applesauce

This year Tim had a BOUNTY of apples on his trees in our yard!  What a gift!

So I decided to make Lucy applesauce without any sweeteners.  We ended up with so many apples I did our own batch.

HOMEMADE APPLESAUCE RECIPE:
Ingredients:
•6-8 lbs Apples (I use whatever is on the trees but Jonagold/ Honeycrisp/ Pink Lady are yummy!)
•1 cup water (or apple juice)
•1/3 cup brown sugar
•1 Tbsp honey
•3 lemon peel slices

Heat in pot on medium for 25 minutes, then mash with a fork if you like it chunky.  You can also make it smooth by puréeing in a blender/food processor.  Enjoy! Lasts about 2 weeks in fridge.

Baby-friendly recipe:
For Lucy I just diced the apples (about 6 lbs) into chunks and added a lemon peel and a cup of water.  Heated on medium for 25 minutes and puréed!  Easy and baby friendly.  I freeze Lucy's in chunks in an ice cube tray :)
